Type: Shrub, can reach 2-3 metres
Description: It has large solitary reddish -orange flowers and flowers from June to October. The Pic-Pic bird makes holes on the side of the flower to steal the nectar
Habitat: Thrives in dry areas. It is only found in the wild on le Morne Brabant
Origin: Endemic to Mauritius
